Saint Lawrence Anglican Church

St. Lawrence Anglican Church has been serving our Lord Jesus in the community of Brockville for over 200 years. This Ministry began in our individual congregations of St. Peter’s (established in 1814) and Trinity (established in 1875), and since 2006 has continued as the Parish of Saint Lawrence.

Within our church family we celebrate and share Christ’s presence in worship and in ministry.

Our worship is at the centre of our life and that life centres round the table where Christ comes to us in bread and wine. In ministry we care for one another through the many active committees and programs of our church.

As we look beyond our church walls we reach out with Christ’s love to meet needs and interest in our wider community.

We continue to grow in our understanding of our faith and of one another in the light of Christ’s love and presence.

Father George.

Father George Lambert

Fr. George became a valuable addition to the ministry team as a part-time priest associate at Saint Lawrence Anglican Church in 2012, following his retirement from full-time ministry in the Diocese of Montreal. He received ordination to the diaconate in 2001 and as a priest in 2003. Before his retirement, Fr. George held the esteemed positions of rector at Saint George's Church in Chateauguay, QC, and archdeacon of the Richelieu and the Eastern Townships.

Prior to his calling to the ministry, George pursued a career in journalism, working across various media platforms such as print, radio, and television in the United States. In 1974, he and his wife Cynthia relocated to Canada, where George worked extensively in corporate public relations and as a consultant in organizational communications. Subsequently, he followed his calling to study for ordination at Montreal Diocesan Theological College.

Fr. George and Cynthia have been blessed with two daughters and four grandchildren, making family an essential part of their lives and enriching their ministry with love and understanding.

In recognition of his dedication and service, at the age of 73 in February 2018, he was bestowed the honorable title of honorary assistant, which came with fewer responsibilities but allowed him to continue contributing his wisdom and guidance to the church community.

Fr. George's diverse background in journalism and corporate communications, coupled with his profound commitment to ministry, brings a unique perspective and compassionate touch to his role in Saint Lawrence Anglican Church. His continued involvement and unwavering dedication demonstrate that age is no barrier to serving the church and its congregation with utmost devotion and enthusiasm.
